The Tracsport English aluminium differential housing is cast in L169TF heat treated alloy, achieving almost 5 kg in weight saving compared to an original Ford cast iron housing. Timkin pinion bearings are supplied and fitted.The pinion height is also measured and stamped on the casting.
 
This differential housing is designed to be a direct replacement for the original Ford cast iron housing. The shape of the tracsport casting is virtually identical to magnesium examples used by ford motorsport in the sixties.

An example of this is the additional ribbing as on the magnesium housing to add rigidity. The mounting face of the tracsport housing is also approximately 3mm thicker than standard, again to add rigidity. Eight elongated studs, washers and lock nuts are provided for this reason.
